Text 13 Jun International Surfing Events held in Bali

This summer, the heavenly beaches of the famous “Bukit” peninsula will get busy with some of the greatest international surfing events.

Here is a sneak peek of the long-awaited competitions.

Billabong 06 Star ASC event:

In partnership with the Asian Surfing Championships (ASC), the famous surf brand has announced that it will be hosting a 6 Star ASC event at Balangan Beach, Pecatu, Bali, from 4 – 7 July 2013.

Highly regarded by surfers for its long breaking left handed waves, Balangan is set against a beautiful beach backdrop, located only 09 kilometers away from Kupu Kupu Jimbaran.

Its white sand and crystalline water setting pleases holidaymakers and surfers from around the globe.

This event titled after Billabong’s new global campaign, “Life’s better in Boardshorts”, is a surf event that has been conceived to not just bring Asia’s best surfers together, but also beach lovers to have a good time.

Surfers from all over Asia (Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Taiwan, Korea, China and Japan and Indonesia) will all be competing with the same goal, the IDR 70 000 000 grand prize.

Rip Curl Cup 2013:

The international surf brand is thrilled to celebrate the ten-year anniversary of the Ultimate Tuberiding Contest on one of the most popular surf spot in Bali, Padang-Padang. Located on the Bukit peninsula, only 15 kilometers away from Kupu Kupu Jimbaran, its calm waters by the sand and break on the offshore reef make this beach a favorite for families and pro-surfers from around the world.

In the past years the Rip Curl Cup Invitational has seen some of the finest tube masters of the modern era compete in the spitting barrels of Padang Padang, including international icons such as Jamie O’Brien, Dean Morrison, Chris Ward, Makua Rothman, Ry Craike and Ozzie Wright. Meanwhile, Indonesia’s top surfers like Rizal, Garut, Bol, Mega, Lee Wilson, Marlon Gerber and Dede Suryana have consistently proven they can compete with the best in the world at the Balinese Pipeline.

This year, the waiting period for the perfect tubes is set July 1st to August 15th.

When the contest gets the green light, you can be certain Padang will be all-time and the barrel rides going down in the water will be among the best of the year.
