With the high season rapidly approaching, Balinese residents and visitors alike have many events to look forward too. The highlight of the year without any doubt will be at the closing of the season in October, when the world’s eyes will be focused on Bali who is hosting the 25th APEC summit. In order to prepare for this huge event Bali is currently working very hard on various projects, all of which are scheduled to be ready before the big day.
The Ngurah Rai airport is expanding, the Ngurah Rai By-Pass road will have a brand new underpass and a toll road connecting Tuban with Nusa Dua is scheduled to open very soon. All of these projects will have a positive impact on the busy roads of Bali and hopefully will ease the traffic flow.
With all this going on, there are still numerous events happening in the upcoming months, with one of the highlights being the Bali Arts Festival. This yearly event will be held for the 35th time in 2013 and gives a unique insight in the Balinese culture and traditions, representing the real village life that Bali is famous for. Starting on June the 15th 2013 with a Grand Parade in Denpasar, the event will last the entire month and will offer activities and performances for all ages.
Should you be interested in the amazing cultural variety that Bali has to offer, this would be the perfect time to visit with all 8 Regency’s of Bali presenting the best dance and musical performances they have to offer, not to mention the amazing handicrafts and food items for sale at great prices at one of the many stalls around the festival area.
